The department of international relations and cooperation (Dirco) has slammed statements made by an Australian politician, who says his country is examining the fast-tracking of visas for white South African farmers because of the dangers they apparently face in South Africa.

Australia’s minister for immigration and border protection, Peter Dutton, reportedly said that his department is considering fast-tracking the visas of white South African farmers looking to emigrate to Australia, because the group deserves “special attention” owing to the “horrific circumstances” they face in South Africa.

It is not clear whether Dutton was referring to farm-murder statistics, or the South African government’s recent undertaking to explore land expropriation without compensation.

Dirco spokesperson Ndivhuwo Mabaya said President Cyril Ramaphosa and other ministers have made it clear that the process of land redistribution will be “orderly, within South African laws, and taking into consideration both social and economic impact”.

“We call on organisations like AfriForum who are spreading wrong information to cause panic and fear to refrain from doing so. The South African government has been very clear; the matter is now before Parliament and all stakeholders [will] be consulted – and they can also engage with Parliament,” Mabaya said.

“There is no reason for any government in the world to suspect that a section of South Africans is [in] danger from their own democratically elected government. That threat does not exist.”

The Guardian quoted Dutton saying: “If you look at the footage and read the stories, you hear the accounts, it’s a horrific circumstance they (white farmers) … from what I have seen they do need help from a civilised country like ours”.

African Farmers Association chief executive Neo Masithela said Dutton’s statements are “ridiculous”.

“[Dutton] should have at least checked with his counterpart in South Africa (Malusi Gigaba), the president, the embassy, or various agricultural unions like Afasa or AgriSA. It is unfortunate that he made such statements on the whim of his views,” Masithela said.

“We have taken a decision that all agricultural unions in South Africa meet to help farmers in the country, black and white. We are coming together to help everybody understand this parliamentary process.”

Masithela said it is concerning that politicians and various groups want to address land expropriation without compensation from a racial position.

“It must be addressed from a socioeconomic position. I doubt white South African farmers will make the move to Australia.”

Alana Bailey, deputy chief executive of AfriForum responsible for international liaison, said Dutton clearly takes in a “serious light” issues such as the high occurrence of farm attacks, crime statistics and the government’s steps to make expropriation without compensation possible, while the South African government “simply ignores or shrugs these off as unfounded fears”.

“It must serve as a warning that South Africa runs the risk to lose even more productive, loyal citizens, should their concerns about issues such as property rights not be listened to in earnest and actions not be launched to address problems such as crime in the country,” she said.

However, Bailey told HuffPost that AfriForum does not encourage the emigration of farmers.

“We would not want our food producers to emigrate, but it is a huge decision. It may look like an easy alternative, but it might have harsh consequences in the future.”

Australian immigration and border protection minister Peter Dutton says that his department is considering fast-tracking the visas of white South African farmers looking to emigrate to Australia, because the group deserves “special attention” due to the “horrific circumstances” they face in South Africa. “If you look at the footage and read the stories, you hear the accounts, it’s a horrific circumstance they face” – Peter Dutton, Australian home affairs minister.

According to The Guardian, an “outbreak of land seizures” and violence has led the Australian immigration department to exam a range of methods to fast-track white South African farmers’ path to Australia on humanitarian or other visa programmes.

The immigration minister noted that Australia has refugee, humanitarian and other visa programmes that have the “potential to help some of these people”.

Reports claim that he has asked his department to look at the options “because from what I have seen, they do need help from a civilised country like ours”.

“If you look at the footage and read the stories, you hear the accounts; it’s a horrific circumstance they face,” Dutton said. “The people we’re talking about want to work hard; they want to contribute to a country like Australia,” Dutton said.

“We want people who want to come here, abide by our laws, integrate into our society, work hard, not lead a life on welfare. And I think these people deserve special attention, and we’re certainly applying that special attention now.”

Sutton said his department was looking at ways to help “some of these horrific cases” and suggested an announcement could be made shortly.

Asked if this could be achieved with the South African government’s cooperation, Dutton replied that Australia “can work with governments all around the world”.

Want die bloed was warm en taai. In die donker het ek na my man gesoek en voel voel op die grond.ek het hom gehoor roggel..toe ek hom kry het ek net gefuister dat ek hulp sal gaan soek..dit het erg gereen. En dit was donker. Met die wete dat hul nog da kan wees het ek nie aan gedink nie en gekruip na my bakkie toe. En die plaashek met my bulbar oop gestamp en ge gly in die turf en in my eie bloed wat uit my sypel . Ek weet ek is in my bors geskiet want die bloed het warm afgeloop . Ni gedink aan hoe erenstig dit is..het ek tot op die hoof teerpad gejaag na die plaas oorkant vir hulp. En by hul plaashek wat al gesluit was het ek op my hoeter gele..ek het gevoel hoe die krag uit my sypel weens die bloed wat ek verloor. Ek koni skree..ek was al te swak. Maar n flitslig wat ek gewaar het my laat besef hulp is opad. En ek het inmekaar gesak. Hul het my in die huis in gedra. Toe gesien day daar 2 skote deur my is..een in my hart. Maar my ribeen het ge keer. En die koel is bokant my een bors uit. Hul het met my gejaag na middelburg toe witbank. Want die een koel in my bo been is nerens uit..by die hospitaal met plate vind hul dit le tessun my 2 ribs. En le veilig en het my mee gedeel my man. Johan het dit nie gemaak nie. A FARM ATTACK WITH A MIRACLE OR 2

He is a 70 year old missionary who was on his way to church. He closed the farm gate and as he climbed back into his pickup, 3 savages jumped on him.

Back at his farm house he told them he does not have a safe, but they can take whatever they like. They didn’t believe him and said “we will teach you to talk”, and put the kettle on and looked for the clothing iron.

The small town of Trompsburg in the Free State has been shocked by the brutal murders of a farmer and his wife. Slaughtered like sheep.

Well-known and popular members of the community, Johan Fourie, 71, and his wife Cecile 72, were allegedly chopped to death with a chopper, on their farm.

In 1992 the white population of South Africa voted for the end of apartheid and the beginning of the rainbow nation.

We did this despite dire warnings from the far right of,degradation,nepotism,tribalism,communism,corruption,racism,crime and anarchy as evidenced in general by the rest of black Africa.

We who had voting rights also put our trust in the ANC to take what was then a first world powerhouse on the sub continent and make it better.
